Kitchen Cabinets

I've been letting Evan play in the tupperware cabinet while I cook and do dishes. He loves it! This morning he tried to climb in.

38 weeks

38 weeks then....

and now......

Evan has been out for as long as he was in! Adam and I talked about what we felt was longer. Adam thinks the pregnancy was longer, I think this past 38 weeks was longer.....but much more exciting!

Christmas in July?

No it is December, but Saturday the temperature got up to 68 degrees! We took advantage of the nice weather and got Evan outside for a few minutes. We took his new truck out and he rode it down the sidewalk. He loved having the wind blow in his face.

Christmas with Adam's family

Adam's family came over around 10 on Christmas morning for breakfast and to exchange gifts. Evan was a little grumpy because his schedule had been so out of wack all week.
He got an elf on a shelf from Uncle Aaron. Next year we will name the elf and he will help keep an eye on Evan and report back to Santa....so he better be good!
He also got an Ohio State chair from Grandma and Grandpa. It will be great for the basement after it is finished!

Here he is tryign on Daddy's new hat.
Everyone left in the early afternoon and we spent the rest of the day relaxing and playing with his new toys. It was a great first Christmas!

Christmas morning

Evan had fun opening his stocking and presents Christmas morning. Santa brought him a new toy box, a basketball hoop, toys, books, and clothes. The basketball hoop was definitely his favorite. In his stocking he got socks, books, tooth paste, a tooth brush, a new bib, and a sippy cup. Mommy and Daddy had cinnamon rolls and then started cooking breakfast for Adam's family.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

On Christmas Eve we went to church with Adam's family and then had Christmas Eve dinner at his parent's house. We had prime rib, mashed potatoes, rutabaga, carrots, and rolls. Evan got to try some rutabaga mashed together with carrots and potatoes. He seemed to like it- next year he can try the prime rib!
After dinner Evan got to open a present, new pajamas. We are going to start the tradition of getting new pajamas on Christmas Eve.

Mommy says "Merry Christmas! Sleep through the night so Santa can come !!"

Christmas with my Mom's side

We started off the Christmas holiday at my parent's house. We were supposed to go to PA first to see my grandma, but the roads were icy, so we decided to postpone that part of the trip. We celebrated Christmas with my mom's side of the family on Tuesday night. Evan did a great job opening his presents and playing with his cousins.

Pulling up

On Christmas Eve Adam and I both left Evan playing with his new truck. When I came back in the room I saw Evan doing this:

I called him to get his attention and he gave me a little "Look mom one hand wave."

Later in the day I laid him down for a nap. I went up a few minutes later because he was screaming and found him sitting up in his crib....we are in trouble!

New hat and mittens

It has been FREEZING here lately. Now that Evan doesn't get carried in his warm and snuggly carrier, we needed to get him a warmer hat and some mittens. He was pretty excited to try them on!

Tonka Truck

Evan got his frist ride on/push toy from my parents for Christmas. According to the box, he is supposed to only be at the pushing stage.....but he proved us wrong and showed us how he can already ride on it. He likes to bounce on it while sitting and scoot himself backwards. He has also been pulling himself up to his knees while holding on to it.

This past week he has also started getting up onto his hands and knees and rocking. He is soooo close to crawling forwards. Right now he just scoots himself backwards and turns around in circles.

Growing up

Evan is really growing up. In the last week we lowered his crib and changed to his big boy car seat. Look at the difference in sizes between his seat that we could take in and out of the car and carry and the new one. I was a little sad to make these changes....he's getting big too fast!
Evan looks sad too.......

actually he is just grumpy. He had his second ear infection last week. He's feeling much better now and luckily it hit before we started traveling for the holidays.

Uncle Aaron

Uncle Aaron was complaining that he wasn't mentioned on the blog....so here is a picture of the very single Uncle Aaron. We were joking with him that we were going to use this site as a dating service. So ladies, click on the picture to send him an email :)

New Traditions

While we were shopping last night Adam and I bought Evan his first ornament. We decided that we are going to buy him a new one each year. We were excited to find this Halmark ornament that is a first in the series called "Making Memories." Each year it is going to feature a big and little snowman doing a holiday tradition. The first one shows the snowmen trimming the tree. We are very excited to start some holiday traditions with Evan!

Chuck E Cheese

Evan went to Chuck E Cheese on Saturday for his friend Carson's 2nd Birthday. He enjoyed riding on Clifford and sliding down the slide. He also ate some pizza crust and had his first lick of icing....thanks to Daddy. Unfortunetely my camera battery died while we were there so I didn't get any pictures of him with the Birthday boy, but I'm sure Carson's mommy will put some up on their blog!

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Evan sent me poinsettias at school for my Birthday. As you can see, he had fun posing next to them! Adam and I went out to dinner at Doc Henderson's and then did some Christmas shopping.

First Christmas Present

Evan got an early Christmas present from his Grandma and Grandpa Hritz. It is a rocking chair that matches his bedroom. He is having fun rocking in it and playing with the letter and number cubes on the back. Thank you!

In a Box

Lately Evan has been more interested in playing with things that aren't his toys- cords, laptops, phones, remotes, etc. Last night I put him in the wipe's box to occupy his for a while. He loved it!

Finger Foods

Evan tried some Gerber Wagon Wheels this weekend. He is doing a great job chewing them. It is funny watching him try to get the food to his mouth.
