Union County Fair

Last night we went to the Union County Fair. Evan loved seeing the animals. Here he is meeting the horses:
Look Mom, cows!

He also took his first ride on a carrousel. He loved it!

COSI workshop

Last Monday Evan went to a water workshop at COSI. His friend Caden was there too. The boys got to play in bubbles, moon sand, pools, and with colored ice cubes. They had a lot of fun!

Zoo with Daddy

Last Friday we took another trip to the zoo. We went inside Habitat Hollow for the first time. This is a really neat interactive exhibit where the kids get to crawl through tunnels and trees and see where animals live.

Evan liked brushing the goats again, but we had to watch him closely because he was trying to lay on them and dive over them like he does with the dog next door.

We also had a good time looking at the gorillas.

Water!

On Monday we had a major water leak in the basement. I was luckily home when the pipe broke and was able to figure out how to turn the water off. Unfortunately I didn't know there was a leak for about 15 minutes so there was already quite a bit of water in the basement. Luckily it only made it to about 5 of the carpet tiles in the finished part of the basement and didn't ruin any dry wall. AND I got Evan's scrapbook out before it got too damaged- we just moved my scrapbook table to the basement about a week ago and it was in direct line of water! Overall we were very lucky to not have more damage. Both the plumer and insurance agent told us they have had horror stories of this happening to people when they were on vacation and having a whole basement full of water.

The contents of the storage part of our basement moved into the finished part to dry.

The fixed pipe that sprayed water all over the place. Check your pipe- ours was corroded because they mixed a stainless steal and copper pipe together.

Some of the water on the ground, it had already gone down a lot at this point. When I got down there we had about 1-2 inches of water.

West Virginia

This past weekend we went to Morgantown to visit Marcie and Bill and got to see Katie and Taylor too. I didn't take very many pictures....I guess having too much fun! On Saturday morning the guys watched Evan while the girls went to the spa. It was great to see everyone! On Saturday night they had a lot of people over for Bill's Birthday and there were a lot of kids for Evan to play with.

Nature Walks

We've taken Evan on a couple of nature walks this summer. He loves to run down the path and bend down and look at the leaves and stones. He also likes to pick up sticks and carry them with him.

We ended our walk with a picnic dinner.

COSI

I took Evan to Cosi again a few weeks ago and what a difference it makes now that he can walk! He was all over the play room! We also sat on a camel in the Egypt exhibit.

Evan's favorite seat

Evan loves to sit in Lucky's bed. He pulls it out to the middle of the room and sits in it and watches tv. Today he ate his snack in it. How ornery does he look in this picture?

4th of July

We had a fun 4th of July. We started out the day by going to the Marysville parade. Evan sat with his eyes glued to the parade while eating a donut.

We then went to a neighborhood party. Evan did crafts and played games with the other kids.

Evan didn't make it to fireworks, but we were able to see them from our street.

Zoo

Evan and I went to the zoo last Monday with our friends Jenn and Ava. Evan had fun petting the lizard, ferret, and turtle at Jungle Jacks landing.

He also sat and talked to the orangutan.

We ended the day at the petting zoo. He loved brushing the goats.

Big News

Evan has some news to share with everyone. He's going to be a:

Doesn't he look happy about it? Actually he just wanted to be picked up, but I love the picture!

Here's the results of the test...looks positive to me!

Here is Evan and I right after finding out:

And Adam and I all ready for number 2....we think.

We went to the doctor a few Fridays ago and everything looks good. We got to see the heart beating.

I am due January 22nd and we'll schedule a c-section for the week before. I've been feeling fine, as long as I don't get hungry. I get to take afternoon naps with Evan since I'm on summer break which is nice so that helps with the tiredness. We are very excited to welcome another little Brown baby to our family!
