Basement remodel

Adam is working on finishing our basement. We are very excited to get it done so we can use the extra space as a family room and playroom for Evan. He started working over Christmas break and this is the progress so far. Here is when he and his dad first started framing:

The electric is in and framing is finished:

Insulation is in to make it warmer and banister down:

Drywall is about halfway done:

What a ham!

This is what Evan did when I told him to say cheese for the camera:

This is now all he'll do when I take his picture!

Hives :(

Thursday, Evan woke up in the middle of the night with a fever and throwing up. We kept him home from school Friday thinking he had the flu. We weren't surprised because a few other kids in his day care also had the flu. He only threw up a few more times during the day Friday, so we thought he must have just had a mild bug. Then when I was giving him a bath Friday night I noticed that he was starting to get a rash.......fast forward to 4am and realize that he has hives. By 5am he was very uncomfortable and scratching like crazy so we took him to the ER. They said it was probably from his antibiotic he had just finished from his ear infection and the fever and vomiting were also probably from the reaction. So he is now on a steroid and doing much better. The hives still come back at night so we are not sleeping well. So I guess we can cross amoxicillin off our list of future antibiotics. Hopefully THIS is now the last illness until spring!

Here he is right before we went to the ER.....I am bummed that I forgot to take the camera to the hosptal.....
Here he is about 3 hours after the steroid so the rash is a little better.

This is how bad his eyes still looked this morning.

Valentine's Day

Evan helped me make a Valentine's day card for Daddy. I helped him stick the stickers on and would clap after we did each one. After a few he would get really excited when we stuck one on.

He also had fun wearing Daddy's tie.

Feeling Much Better!

Evan is doing much better now. We are very thankful that he responded so well to breathing treatments because after telling people about his illness we heard of at least five other babies who are hospitalized with RSV. Luckily he had healthy lungs to begin with!
This is how Evan spent most of the day Tuesday and Wednesday while Adam was home with him:

Here Evan is trying to give me a smile on one of his worst days:

He is still getting breathing treatments three times a day....we hope to wean him off of those throughout the long weekend and return him back to day care as good as new by Tuesday! He does NOT like the breathing treatments.

Sick Baby

We have a very sick baby on our hands. Evan has RSV, Bronchiolitis, and an ear infection. He is on an antibiotic for his ear and having breathing treatments. He has literally slept all day on Adam's chest.....he is just pitiful! Pictures to follow

Ice Cream Party

We went to Graeter's Ice Cream yesterday for Caleb's second Birthday party. Evan tried vanilla ice cream for the first time.

He tried to play some basketball with Caleb.

And he rode on the big banana split teeter totter.

Playing ball with Lucky

Evan started throwing the ball to Lucky. He gets so excited when Lucky runs after it and brings it back to him. We just have to watch him closely because he grabs the ball right from Lucky and gets a little rough. Lucky is really good with him, but we don't want to take any chances!

Evan loves dogs!

We went to visit Josh and Laurel in Cinicinnati this weekend. Evan LOVED their dog Gordy, he just laughed laughed whenever he saw him.
